Cases of container ship static modelling
Project overview
This 50-centimeter-long static model of a DANMAR LINES container ship is a display that we crafted with advanced 3D printing. The model perfects the appearance of more than 90 per cent of the real ship, including the marked black and red hull, the well-organized container array and the fine upper structure.
Production process
3D Modelling
Based on DANMAR LINES live ship photographs and design drawings, our designers use specialized modelling software:
Accurately build the arc of the hull to ensure that the waterline radians are consistent with the real ship
Proportional reduction of container slot layout to maintain standard spacing
Model dismantling into modules such as hulls, superstructures, containers, etc., optimizing printing options
3D printing
3D printing equipment for industrial photo fixation:
The main hull uses high-intensity resin material to ensure structural stability
Containers select light-quality environmental resin to reduce overall weight
Fine parts such as radar, cranes, etc. are printed with high precision resin
Reprocessing process
Support structure removal: manual fine removal to avoid damage to model surface
Layer-treading: graded from 400 to 3,000 sandpapers I'm grinding.
Ultrasound depth clean: completely remove internal residues from the model Objects
Seam-filling: specialized earth-filling to ensure seamless alignment Answer.
Professional Painting Process
Bottom-painted treatment: grey epoxy bottom-painted, 48 hours natural solidification
Color spray:
Ship body: dumb black subject, bottom red with ship-specific paint
Upper level architecture: pure white paint, covered spraying process for side windows
Containers: bright yellow base paints, "DHL" markings using typographical techniques
Protection coatings: two layers of polishing protection paints to prevent faded scratches
Detail enhanced processing
"DANMAR LINES" font: Ribbon printing process, clear edge
Deck equipment: mini cranes are mobile, enhancing authenticity
Band ladder poles: 0.3 mm copper wire manufactured manually, accurate reduction
Cable system: Super nylon knitted, presenting real substanceSensor.
